The first step in a consultancy engagement is typically a baseline survey. We analyse the current sustainability performance through a quick check with questions about all three sustainability pillars. This process can be designed top-down (initially only management involvement) or bottom-up/participative (initial employee involvement). The analysis compares the current sustainability performance with stakeholder expectations and compares it with other companies (benchmarking). This forms the basis for a sustainability goal definition and strategy preparation, in which we support the management.

Subsequently we develop business cases for sustainability to improve specific aspects of the sustainability performance as part of the overall strategy, reducing gaps to stakeholder expectations and improving the eco and socio efficiency. Typically this is centred on the company value chain and the regional structure (sites). We contribute to the realisation, if desired, through project monitoring, trainings and moderations.

We consult enterprises which instruments (e.g. sustainability balanced scorecard, eco and socio efficiency performance figures) and systems are suitable for the permanent integration of sustainability management in everyday business operation and monitor their introduction.
